Book Review: What are you waiting for?

This book is about "Saving yourself until Marriage" & God's view on Sex. I think it is a great book for single girls and for people that are already married. This book is very honest, uplifting, positive and I think it is extremely helpful for girls that are single and are waiting for the "right one"! I will definitely have my daughter's read this (age appropriate of course) and I would have them read it as young as 13. It seems to me that girls are starting to be promiscuous even at a younger age and I would think that this would help them when they are young, trying to find themselves and trying to figure out who they are. I would recommend this book for mother's & mentor's of young girls. This book covers all sorts of important issues. Definitely worth reading!

Book Description:
If you need satisfying answers to your questions about sex, Dannah Gresh has one (surprising) word for you.

In What Are You Waiting For? Dannah follows the trail of one provocative, ancient word through the Bible to discover God’s deepest thoughts about sex. The mind-blowing truth she uncovers clearly points the way to a sexuality that’s satisfying and real and everything God designed it to be.

(Not one to shy away from edgy topics), Dannah candidly shares…

- straight talk about masturbation and pornography
- the ground-breaking science that explains the addictive power of romantic experiences
- honest answers about the lesbian question
- a clear plan for breaking free from sexual guilt
- the unexpected key to a lifetime of truly fulfilling intimacy

If you’re a young woman looking for honest answers about sex—and wondering why it’s such a big deal to God—you’ve come to the right place. In these pages you’ll discover a life-changing truth that no one ever talks about—a truth that will transform everything you think you know about sex, romance, and God.

So what are you waiting for? The answer is right inside.

Biography:
Dannah Gresh is a best-selling author and the founder of Pure Freedom, (purefreedom.org) and is the creator of Secret Keeper Girl (secretkeepergirl.com). She is a frequent guest who is called upon to defend the conservative position of abstinence in mediums such as The Chicago Tribune, USA Today, and TIME. Her most recent best-sellers are "Six Ways To Keep The Little In Your Girl: Guiding Your Tween To Her Teens" and "What Are You Waiting For: The One Thing No One Ever Tells You About Sex." Book Review: The Grace Effect

The books talks about Christianity, atheists and an adoption of a 10 year old girl from Ukraine. I really wasn't able to get into it.

Book Description

“Simply defined, the ‘grace effect’ is an observable phenomenon—that life is demonstrably better where authentic Christianity flourishes.”

What does Christianity give us beyond televangelists, potlucks, and bad basketball leagues? Not much, according to the secular Left. The world, they say, would be a better place without it.

Historian and Christian apologist Larry Taunton has spent much of his career refuting just this sort of thinking, but when he encounters Sasha, a golden-haired Ukranian orphan girl whose life has been shaped by atheistic theorists, he discovers an unlikely champion for the transforming power of grace.

Through the narrative of Sasha’s redemption, we see the false promises of socialism; the soul-destroying influence of unbelief; and how a society cultivates its own demise when it rejects the ultimate source of grace. We see, in short, the kind of world the atheists would give us: a world without Christianity—cold, pitiless, and graceless.

And yet, as Sasha shows us, it is a world that is not beyond the healing power of “the grace effect.” Occasionally infuriating, often amusing, but always inspiring, The Grace Effect will have you cheering for the courageous little girl who shamed the academic elitists of our day.

Book Review: Awakening

This is an amazing book. I absolutely loved it. I could read it again. If your relationship with God has become stale than this is the book for you. Or if you would just like to read a good book with some great information than I would suggest this for you.

Back of the Book:

Would you like your walk with God always to be fresh...satisfying...passionate? If so, it's time for an awakening-to hear the voice of God and feel His presence like never before!

In a world filled with Twitter, Facebook, and so much noise and clutter, we can easily get distracted and "gunked up" spiritually-bogged down in our relationship with God. But according to Stovall Weems, there's a powerful, "new school" way to hit the reset button and find the thriving life God promises.

Awakening includes a 21-Day Plan to help you activate the principles that ensure a lasting, vital relationship with God-even in a world where everything quickly becomes stale.

Regardless of where you are in your spiritual journey, Awakening will take you to the next level in your relationship with God.
